  • Training given to nearly 40 youth members in life skill education and development

  • Training given to 200 youths in Tailoring, Computer operations, Two Wheeler repair mechanism, Cell Phone repair mechanism in the Tsunami affected villages of Sayalkudi block, Ramnad District, Tamil Nadu.

  • Supplementary education programme for nearly 289 children in the rural hilly areas has improved their educational status. The rate of female education has also improved up to 68% in the project villages.

SAADOW is registered as a Non-Governmental Organization. It was formed by 15 women members and with a qualified social worker as Executive Director. It was registered under Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act 27 of 1975 on 04.09.1990. Our society is serving for the development of Women, Children, Aged, Rural health, General awareness, Natural farming and Medicine in Natham and Sanarpatti Blocks, Dindugul District and Kottampatti Block in Madurai District, Tamilnadu. Our society is also implementing need based projects with “Community Participation in the Project Village”.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Executive body of SAADOW selected Mr.P.SONAIMUTHU, MSW, PGDC, PGDPM., as an Executive Director in the society. He has completed Master of Social Work, P.G.Diploma in Counselling and guidance and P.G.Diploma in Personnel Management. In his illustrious career he has seen varied and challenging roles.

  • Two and half years as Programme Co-ordinator in Tamilnadu Sarvodya Mandal,
  • Seven months as Project Officer in Indian Council for child welfare
  • Three years as Counselor in IRCDS, Drug Awareness and Counseling centre
  • Two years as Supervisor in Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Delhi Rural Library Schemes.
   

Presently he is the training officer for all developmental projects of SAADOW. With his qualification and experience, he is implementing the schemes on the advice and consultation of SAADOW Executive body.

He is also the Facilitator cum Evaluator for CAPART- Government of India and Monitor for NMDFC - Government of India. He has received the Best Social Worker award for the year 2005, for women welfare, from the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Ms.J.Jayalalitha, on 15.08.2005 at Chennai.
